Alex creates electronic projects, tutorials, unboxings, and video interviews with hardware luminaries as a Pro Partner at Hackster.io – the online community for hardware developers. She also produces videos and assists with events for other organizations, such as Arduino and Edge Impulse.
Alex can be found at events worldwide with her robotic owl companion bot, Archimedes – as well as F3NR1R the fennec fox and others. She weaves together DIY sustainability solutions, music, wearable tech / biohacking, languages, creative bike light systems, holography, and more.
Her overarching goal is to enable hardware ennthusiasts to build sustainable and ethical hardware tech – via Green-EE (a directory of resources + inspiration for those building and selling HW), as well as all other activities.
Alex grew into hardware through FIRST Robotics; served as a director of hackerspaces AHA (2010-11) and Noisebridge (2013); and was an Instructables/Autodesk Artist in Residence at Pier 9 (2014). She’s also been featured in Make: Magazine, the Adafruit blog, Hackspace Magazine / MagPi, This Week in Tech, Recomendo, and more.
